I used to be a teacher and after I became a Baha’i, I realized the Baha’i Teachings on children’s education have changed my attitude toward teaching. Maybe it’s the country that I’m from but in my culture, in the class room, the teacher has the authority to do everything. After doing Book 3 about the education of children, the Ruhi class, I realized that children—even though they are young—they are not an empty vessel for us to fill but it’s really important for us to give them the opportunity to think, and to articulate what they think. I think that’s really important. And also I’ve become much more patient!
