The Baha’i Faith has been the core of my identity my whole adult life... I went into the Peace Corps and went to Iran. That was a significant experience as a Baha’i. It was long before the Revolution of course, but the Baha’is were under pressure. I was in a little town south of Shiraz, a very small community, maybe 15 adults and some children, and I was able to meet with them very carefully and circumspectly. I would go to Feasts and Holy Days. And it was very meaningful to go to Shiraz occasionally and visit the House of the Bab. When you live outside your country in another culture for a couple years or so, you get a very different view of your own country, the United States. It expands your view of the world and the oneness of humanity.
